Dr. Evans is a licensed clinical psychologist and health informatics educator, who is currently working for the Veteran Health Administration (VHA). As a psychologist, Dr. Evans is trained in a variety of evidenced based practices for working with individuals coping with a variety of mental health conditions. As a health informatics education, Dr. Evans develops and facilitates training programs related to mental health informatics technologies across the VHA system. Also in this role, she develops policies and procedures for implementing mental health informatics projects in VA hospitals, provides consultation to VA hospital staff and leadership, and ongoing educational and implementation support. By combining her experiences as a clinical psychologist and informatics educator, she is able to help increase the effectiveness and efficiency of patient-centered, recovery-oriented care.
Prior to accepting her current role with VHA, Dr. Evans was a psychologist with the Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno, NV. At the VA hospital in Reno she specialized in treatment for Veterans with substance use disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Evans completed her pre-doctoral internship at Creighton University and received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007.
In her free time, Dr. Evans enjoys yoga, meditation, gardening, and trying her hand at a variety of craft projects. She and her husband share their home with a wild group of dogs, cats, birds, and chickens.
