Kia Williams, M.S., 200hr RYT has a strong academic background with double bachelor’s degrees in Radio-Television-Film (concentration in fitness production and script writing) and English (concentration in Creative Writing), with a minor in Spanish. She has her Masters in Recreation and Sports Management (concentration in Fitness Program Management) and is completing her Masters in Business Administration.
Kia Williams is a highly motivated team leader, fitness program developer, master educator, public speaker, global presenter, and content creator. She travels around the world serving, educating, training, and certifying fitness service providers on fitness business topics and various movement-based modalities. Kia is recognized for her ability to incorporate innovative and progressive management techniques that result in enhanced day-to-day operations, employee productivity, and consumer engagement. She has managed fitness and wellness programs and facilities for the University of North Texas, Texas A&M University-Commerce, the University of Illinois, VASA Fitness, and more. She is proud of the supportive and contributing work she has done for IDEA World Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) College and University Engagement Initiatives, and for Savvier Fitness fitness formats such as Barre Above, Balletone, and Cardio Yoga. Kia has contributed as editor and fitness model for a few books published by Human Kinetics, most notably “Motivational Yoga,” authored by Nancy Gerstein. Kia worked closely alongside the 2019 IDEA World Fitness Instructor of the Year and Senior Vice President of Fitness and Innovation at VASA Fitness, Doris Thews, on content development, program implementation, business presentation preparations, vendor relations, customer experience, and sustainable organizational change initiatives. Kia uses her transferable professional skills and experience in fitness to mentor young professionals, support multicultural engagement, and to make fitness accessible, inclusive, and feasible for the masses.
Kia has been certified and licensed to teach over a dozen fitness formats and is actively creating content and new formats for children and adults around the world to experience and enjoy. Kia has made it her career mission and social responsibility to support people who are affected by marginalization in jobs, education, healthcare, and lack of representation in the fitness industry. She was nominated for the Community Impact Award, hosted by Junior League of Champaign, Illinois, for her unwavering support for positive sustainable health initiatives and practices in under-represented communities. She has been a featured guest speaker on many platforms and shows such as WFAA News Daybreak, The Pedestal Project, SCW, Fitness Town Hall: Systematic Racism in Fitness with Lawrence Biscontini, Struct Club, WIFA Podcast, The Masters Fitness Podcast with Chan Galloway, All About Fitness Podcast with Pete McCall, and more. Kia and her good friend, Lauren George, are the creators and hosts of Fit and Fierce on the Mic, a podcast dedicated to provide expert advice, tangible tips and help to improve fitness, refine teaching and coaching technique, and to grow fitness businesses and services. Overall, Kia is committed to helping others live a healthy lifestyle by maintaining a strong, fit, and balanced mind and body.
