{"id":10736,"date":"2015-01-30T19:28:09","date_gmt":"2015-01-31T03:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medicalfitnessnetwork.org\/?p=10736"},"modified":"2015-02-07T16:49:25","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T00:49:25","slug":"want-become","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medfitnetwork.org\/public\/all-mfn\/want-become\/","title":{"rendered":"Be What You Want to Become"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Suzi Fevens, from her blog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.confessionsofafitnessinstructor.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">Confessions of a Fitness Instructor<\/a> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We all know people who continue to\u00a0<strong>say<\/strong>\u00a0they are going to do something, but never do it, and then complain because they haven\u2019t seen the results they want to see. \u00a0And then there are the people who refuse to let what they are (or have been) hold them back from what they want to be.<\/p>\n<p>In my profession I\u2019m lucky enough to see lots of those second kind of people fight against what card\u2019s they\u2019ve been dealt each and every day. \u00a0I also get to see lots of the first kind of people too, the ones that might even go as far as to start something, but never see it through. \u00a0We all have difficulties in life, and unless you know someone really well you don\u2019t know what those difficulties might be. \u00a0For some of us (myself included) those difficulties are hidden physical conditions that limit our ability to do physical activities but that nobody can see on the outside, it\u2019s how we deal with those difficulties that set us apart.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s funny, as a blogger you are supposed to find your \u201cniche\u201d in the blogging world. \u00a0I\u2019ve always coupled myself as just another healthy living blog, nothing terribly special. \u00a0I\u2019ve written \u00a0a couple of times about having fibromyalgia but never really made it a focus of the blog as it seemed a bit too \u201cpoor me\u201d for my liking. \u00a0By avoiding talking openly about what was one of my major driving forces to become a fitness professional, not only have I been holding back a lot of what being me is, and how hard it is to do what I do on a daily basis with my condition, I\u2019ve been avoiding what should have been my niche all along. \u00a0It\u2019s not everyday you find a full-time fitness instructor with fibromyalgia! <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-smiley\" src=\"http:\/\/www.confessionsofafitnessinstructor.com\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_wink.gif\" alt=\";)\" \/> \u00a0So while you won\u2019t find my blog become a total fibromyalgia fest, you can certainly expect that it will come up more often and that I will write more freely about my struggles as a fitness professional with a illness causing chronic pain.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.confessionsofafitnessinstructor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/suzismall-1024x967.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"271\" \/>So back to the quote. \u00a0The reason I chose to share that quote today is because it embodies my life. \u00a0So many people with my condition are unable, or feel unable to live an active, strong life so they do nothing for fear of getting over tired, or the muscle and joint pain that follows especially when trying to get into a regular exercise routine. \u00a0I\u2019ve lived the life of not exercising because I hurt too much, was too tired and just couldn\u2019t do it. \u00a0I won\u2019t do it again. \u00a0So much of my life was robbed from me in those years, and while it is a struggle for me every day to get up and do what I do, I do it. \u00a0I do it because I want to be able to do it. \u00a0And if I don\u2019t do it, if I stopped being a fitness instructor and stopped exercising in just a few short weeks I would go back to that place. \u00a0That sad, dark, painful place where you feel like you\u2019ll never have the energy to do anything again. \u00a0Because I don\u2019t want to go there I continue to push myself to get up and get out there and exercise. \u00a0Sometimes it really hurts, some days I don\u2019t know how I\u2019m going to stay standing never mind teach a crazy Zumba class (or two, or three) but I somehow pull myself together and do it. \u00a0And I do it because I want to be able to do it tomorrow. \u00a0I want to be able to do it in a week, month, or year\u2019s time. \u00a0I want to be able to do it so I do it.<\/p>\n<p>We become what we want to be by constantly being what we want to become each day.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Read more from Suzi at her blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.confessionsofafitnessinstructor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Confessions of a Fitness Instructor<br \/>\n<\/a><em>&#8220;My blog is a place for me to share my struggles and accomplishments.
