Recently I had a client who said, \u201cI am recovering from breast cancer. These types of exercise can have a positive impact on cancer patients and survivors.<\/p>\n<p>Easy aerobic exercise for cancer patients has been shown to lessen fatigue, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2016\/06\/160604051004.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reduce symptoms of neuropathy<\/a>&#8211; keeping muscles in shape for better every day activities. These exercises also increase self confidence, reduce depression and aid in recovery from surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Other research has shown strength and flexibility exercises to be good exercises for cancer patients helping them return to a normal activity level sooner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2016\/06\/06\/diet-and-exercise-are-the-best-ways-to-fight-cancer-scientists-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Exercise, diet<\/a> and social support seem to increase the life expectancy of breast cancer survivors, preventing recurrence.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning, gently move a few minutes at a time, and build up at your own pace. Try walking, light aerobics or swimming. As you get stronger, add a couple of days a week of light resistance training.
