Carol Michaels, MBA, is the founder and creator of the Recovery Fitness® exercise program. Recovery Fitness helps cancer patients recover from surgery and treatments and teaches those with osteoporosis to exercise safely and effectively. Carol is a thought leader in the areas of cancer and osteoporosis exercise. She has worked with physicians and other health professionals to develop her Recovery Fitness program, which is currently offered at her Short Hills studio, hospitals, health organizations, and community centers.
Carol is a nationally recognized Exercise Specialist, consultant, author, and presenter and is on the advisory board for numerous health organizations. She received her degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a speaker for corporate wellness programs, fundraisers, and community events. She has held workshops, webinars, and teleconferences for numerous cancer and health related organizations. Carol has appears regularly on health related radio and television programs. She is an author of a chapter in the e-book called Ten to Thrive and has been published in magazines, newsletters and blogs.
The American Council on Exercise and Life Fitness recognized her as a Trainer to Watch in 2011. Personal Fitness Professional honored her as the 2012 PFP Trainer of the Year. She was one of three finalists for IDEA Fitness (the world’s largest association for fitness and wellness professionals) 2014 Personal Trainer of the Year.
Carol developed and produced two DVD’s called Recovery Fitness – Simple Stretches and Recovery Fitness -Strength Training. Her book, Exercises for Cancer Survivors, is a fantastic resource for anyone undergoing cancer surgery or treatments. Recovery Fitness partnered with NFPT to create a continuing education course.
