7 Foods Your Body Wants to Eat But You Should Not

Your food choice each day affects your health and there is no denying that. The food you choose to eat and drink today affects your tomorrow and your future. Good and healthy food plays an important role in a healthy life.

In our daily life, we get to meet a lot of people who consider themselves fit and healthy. But when we probe into their diet routine, we find out that they are actually consuming a lot of ‘health’ foods they should never eat. But we can’t blame them, the confusion is created by the brands that market their product as ‘sugar-free’, ‘100% pure’ and even ‘organic’. But just because something is being served your way as organic and sugar-free doesn’t mean that it’s good for your health. Just to make your life easier, here is a list of 7 foods that you simply should not eat.

Farmed Fish

Fish sounds good and healthy, but not every fish comes in the same category and farmed fish is one of those. Fish that are raised on farms have as much as 20% less protein compared to fresh water or wild fish. Farmed fish are simply not a healthy option because they provide your body with excessive levels of inflammation producing omega-6 fatty acids that lead to chronic diseases such as diabetes and also skin diseases especially eczema. This production lowers the level of inflammation, fighting heart and brain healthy omega-3s. Inflammation aggravates many life-threatening issues that you don’t want to get including diabetes, cancer, arthritis, heart diseases and even Alzheimer’s.

Fruit juices

Daily consumption of packed fruit juice can be harmful because it can cause a major spike in blood sugar levels. Packed and labeled as 100% pure juice of any fruit you find at the grocery stores is one of the ‘healthy’ foods that you should simply avoid. It may sound weird to you, but the fact is that they are just as unhealthy as a sugary drink. It is a wrong notion that fruit juice will have the same benefits as the fruit itself.

Once the juice is squeezed from the fruit, it is then stored in massive artificial oxygen tanks for up to a year or so before it is packed to be distributed in the market. So even if you are buying the highest quality or expensive fruit juice, they are still far from their original state and are still very high in sugar with almost zero % fiber.

Microwave popcorn

Microwave popcorn is another unhealthy food that you should simply avoid. This non-organic snack is high in carcinogens and is simply not worth the convenience. Even if you manage to find the best quality of organic varieties, it still would not be safe to eat because the bags in which the popcorns are packed are coated with a chemical that is linked to cancer. Also, fake flavoring causes a serious lung-related disease when consumed in large quantities or daily.

Conventional meat

Conventional meat is a genetically modified, non-organic product which is as good as nothing and is also considered as death food. Even if the meat is labeled as ‘lean’ with excess fat trimmed off, it still should never be part of anyone’s menu. It is very important to know what you are consuming, if the livestock that you are cooking for lunches and dinners is hormone-stuffed feed, force-fed, then that’s what enters your GI tract and literally gets stored in your fat cells. It is good to know your ranchers and food growers and you should always purchase your meat from a trusted source.

Margarine

Well, it is true that margarine is an inexpensive substitute for butter, but many of you might not know that margarine is made out of trans fat which is known to clog arteries and can be a cause of heart disease. Trans fat also has the tendency to increase someone’s risk of developing type II diabetes along with other serious health issues.

Vegetable oil

Vegetable oil is another ‘health’ food that should never be on your grocery list. Just like margarine has no health benefits similarly, vegetable oil does no wonders to your body like weight loss which is particularly a myth. This type of oil is also genetically modified and is known to be a cause of various health concerns such as digestive complications, heart diseases, liver problems, obesity, skin reactions, low birth weight, and vision reduction. To ensure health safety, you should opt for cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil. But before buying coconut oil, you must make sure that it smells like coconut because if it doesn’t smell like a real coconut, then it is likely to be a pasteurized one which can be equally harmful. Currently, a new trend has been embraced where people opt for vegan protein to enhance their gym routine and this which is quite impactful.

Conventional milk

Conventional milk is something you should say no to immediately. This form of milk is collected from the livestock that is fed genetically modified cow feed and their hormones are also administered to increase milk production. When people consume conventional milk, they are automatically transferred all of the toxins that were given to the livestock which then result in many of the health concerns as discussed above. Just like fruit juices, when raw milk is collected and pasteurized, it loses all its goodness and the end result is as good as nothing. Since all the values are destroyed in the intense heating process, people don’t get the promised benefits.

The moral of the story is, don’t end up believing everything you read. Do your own research too because, at the end of the day, what you choose to eat and drink will bring life and energy to your body.
